Stadio Rocco: Meeting Between Triestina and the Municipality of Trieste

Yesterday afternoon, a meeting took place at the Blue Lounge of the Municipality of Trieste between municipal authorities and Triestina, resulting in the issuance of this joint statement.

The meeting was attended by Mayor Roberto Dipiazza, General Director Fabio Lorenzut, Councilor for Real Estate Policies with responsibility for Public Works Elisa Lodi, and Institutional Information Manager Vittorio Sgueglia della Marra for the Municipality of Trieste. Representing Triestina were General Director of the Sports Area Alex Menta and Club Manager Giambattista Domestici.

Since the early days of the new ownership of Triestina, there has been a expressed desire to reconnect the team with the fans, the territory, and the people, finding the same willingness and available references in public institutions, particularly in the Municipality of Trieste, for dialogue and constructive engagement.

Regarding the situation of the grass field at Rocco Stadium, where interventions are already underway for its optimal restoration, the municipal administration noted that the serious deterioration during the match played on September 4th is not directly attributable to Triestina's extraordinary training session, but to technical aspects related to the restoration procedures under review by the municipal agronomists and the Society.

Mayor Dipiazza and Councilor Lodi reiterated the constant commitment and willingness of the Administration to stand by Triestina in achieving the best possible results.

Triestina confirmed its commitment to support the Municipality and its technicians to ensure that the stadium soon resumes hosting the Club's competitive activities.

Regarding the potential overlap between post-season matches and already scheduled concerts, the Club has received assurances from the Municipality that solutions are already being worked out to allow the team to play home games. The Municipality of Trieste will keep the Club informed about this matter.

Mindful of this experience, the Club and the Municipality will share a careful planning of any different events that may be hosted at the Stadium. All this while giving primary consideration to the club's sports commitments, which aim to prepare the team logistically and especially on the field.

The Club finally wishes to thank the fans, asking them to continue supporting the club and the team even if temporarily in a "different home," while waiting to overcome this new and unexpected challenge.
