US Triestina Calcio 1918 announce that Pep Clotet has been appointed as first team manager.
The Catalan coach began his career in Barcelona, first managing Cornellà before moving to Espanyol, where he led the Under 18 team to a Spanish championship title and later managed the B team.
He gained further experience in Sweden and Norway with Malmo, Halmstad, and Viking, before returning to Spain to coach Malaga B.
Clotet then moved to the United Kingdom, serving as assistant coach at Swansea City, Leeds, and Birmingham City, and as head coach of Oxford United in the 2017/18 season, as well as Birmingham City in the 2019/20 season.
He also coached in Italy’s Serie B at Brescia and SPAL, before his most recent experience in Russia with Torpedo Moscow.
The new Triestina manager will begin work on the field on Monday, 21 October, when he will also be introduced to the press at Stadio Rocco at 18:00.
Welcome to Trieste, Pep.
